RAMAT BEIT SHEMESH · 15 YEARS

He lit the fire. He made the tea. Now he knows he can.

Every boy will face a hard season. At OLT he learns, with his own hands, that he can handle it. A full year costs $1,500 (₪4,500). Help us sponsor a boy.

Sponsor a boy

Every boy belongs in the forest.

OLT is built so any boy can join. Many of the boys we sponsor are growing up in single-parent homes, and a full year is more than their families can carry. We cover that gap quietly.

Boys train side by side, so no one can tell whose year is sponsored. Your gift pays for the year, and protects his dignity.

Fund the Gear

gear-tools.jpg

The best year takes real equipment.

Knives and axes built to last, bows and arrows, ferro rods, cooking gear, first-aid kits, water filters and stoves. A gear fund lets BD buy what makes every boy’s experience the best it can be, without worrying about the cost.

What a year at OLT builds

Self-reliance

Fire, food and shelter from almost nothing.

Responsibility

Trust earned with real tools, used properly.

Composure

Staying steady when nothing goes to plan.

Leadership

Guiding the group, not only yourself.

tea-fire.jpg
how it happens

The best tea he has ever had.

Week one, a boy learns fire safety and watches how to light a fire with one match. Week two, he does it himself, boils the water, and makes a cup of tea with the cheapest tea from the grocery store.

He says it is the best tea he has ever had. It is not the tea. It is the proof that he can do hard things and that adults trust him to do them.

Every boy leaves with a certificate of the 30+ skills he practiced. Boys who missed theirs have come looking for it months later. They still need the reminder of who they have become.

“R’ BD Greenman’s OLT is not just outdoor activity — it is transformational education. Boys learn to break through the limits they thought they had, build resilience, and set and achieve meaningful goals.”

“He works hard and does well at school, but we thought he needed an opportunity to learn skills that would give him a sense of being competent and useful outside school. The group has done exactly that — we can see it changing his self-image.”
