How to Tie a Square Knot

1. Find two pieces of rope (or string) at home. Using different colors can help you see the steps more clearly.

2. Take the rope in your right hand and place it over the rope in your left hand, then wrap it under and pull it through.

3. Now take the rope in your left hand and place it over the rope in your right hand, wrap it under, and pull it through.

4. Pull both ends firmly to tighten the knot.

5. You will know the knot is tied correctly when it “dresses up” neatly and the ropes lie symmetrically, forming a balanced knot.
