A frog hunt is never really about the frogs.
When we take kids out exploring, it’s not about checking something off a list. It’s about stepping past the edge of the sidewalk and into the space where dirt paths, tall grass, and curiosity take over.
We try to go just a little farther than they’ve gone before. Sometimes we find frogs. Sometimes tadpoles. Sometimes even jackals moving quietly through the bushes. And sometimes we don’t “find” anything at all — except the adventure itself.
Out there, between different parts of the city, where pavement turns to earth, kids discover something bigger than wildlife. They discover confidence. They discover freedom. They discover that there is a whole world right outside their door just waiting to be explored.
All we have to do is step outside.
